In February 2008 the Bolivian government declared a state of emergency after around 60,000 families were affected by heavy flooding. Heavy rainfall resulted in numerous rivers' banks bursting and thousands of homes and agricultural land being destroyed.
The floods devastated large parts of the country but the worst hit region was Beni where thousands of people were left homeless. ShelterBox volunteers worked tirelessly to pack the 200 boxes sent to the country.
